Getting Legally Married in St. Lucia: Requirements for US Couples

Legal ceremony available

What the law requires

St. Lucia allows foreigners to legally marry. No residency period: you can obtain a marriage license within 24 hours of arrival with a same-day application (EC $540 fee) or a regular license after 2 days (EC $335). Required documents: valid passport, birth certificate, and proof of single status. If divorced or widowed, bring a decree absolute or death certificate. No blood test required. Documents not in English must be authenticated and translated.

Do your guests need a visa?

No visa for US passport holders on a typical wedding-length stay in Saint Lucia. Guests just need a passport valid for the travel dates (six months beyond, to be safe).

Marriage laws and document requirements change. Confirm with your planner or the country's consulate before you book.
