Getting Legally Married in Curacao: Requirements for US Couples

Curacao (Kingdom of the Netherlands) lets non-residents marry legally. The marriage petition and documents go to the Kranshi civil registry in Willemstad at least 2 months before the wedding date, and the couple appears in person no later than 3 days before the ceremony. Required: passports, apostilled birth certificates issued within 6 months of the wedding, proof of single status (divorce decree or death certificate if previously married), and certified translations for documents not in Dutch, English, or Spanish. A legal ceremony held outside the registry office needs six adult witnesses, which your venue or planner can arrange. The marriage is recognized in the US.

No visa for US passport holders on a typical wedding-length stay in Curacao. Guests just need a passport valid for the travel dates (six months beyond, to be safe).
