Grand Cayman destination wedding

Grand Cayman Destination Wedding

Cayman Islands · Caribbean

Grand Cayman is the Caribbean's most polished option: the calm, impossibly clear water of Seven Mile Beach, a safety and service level that comes with being a global banking hub, and two Forbes Five-Star resorts within a mile of each other. Visitor marriage licenses have no waiting period, so you can legally marry the day you land. Flights are short (about 70 minutes from Miami, four hours from New York), and the island's restaurant scene is widely considered the best in the region.

Legal requirements

Legal ceremony is straightforward

Visitors marry under a Special Marriage Licence (about CI$200 / US$250) from the Passport and Corporate Services Office in George Town; it can be issued the day you arrive, with no waiting period and no minimum stay. Bring passports, proof of legal entry (your immigration card), evidence of single status (divorce decree or death certificate if applicable), and a letter from a licensed Cayman Marriage Officer, whom you book before arrival. Two witnesses are required (your officer can supply them). The Cayman marriage certificate is recognized in the US with no apostille needed.

Always verify current requirements with local authorities or your wedding planner before finalizing plans.
