Yes To Marrying My Bestfriend

Brandon ♥ Cortney

Today’s feature is a light and carefree engagement. The couple wanted a laid back casual session with lots of candid moments. Their photographer, also a close friend, took Brandon and Cortney to one of her favorite locations on Folly Beach overlooking the Morris Island Lighthouse. It was a perfect evening with beautiful light and a very happy couple. Congratulations, lovebirds! Can’t wait wait to see photos of your wedding!

The Love Story

My fiance and I met at church during the winter of 2014. We randomly started talking one day and became friends. (Caveat: he was dating someone at the time.) After his relationship ended several months later, a mutual friend stepped into action. She must have picked up on something as she kept encouraging him to ask me out. I believe it took 2 months of her coaxing him, but he finally asked me to go for a walk on the beach at sunset. I have always heard people talk about how they knew right away that they’d found “the one”. I was quite skeptical until it happened to me. I knew right away that I had found “the one”. Eight months later he proposed to me during a walk on the beach. Although I was completely surprised, and left him on his knee in the hot sand a little too long due to shock and utter excitement, I couldn’t have been more excited to say “YES” to marrying my best friend.

Take It From The Bride

♥ Make sure you meet your photographer in person or at least talk to them on the phone before booking. You want to make sure you connect with him/her because you will be spending the whole day with that individual.

♥ Look up sunset time on the day of your wedding and plan accordingly. Most flattering light for photos is one hour before sunset. You can even ask your photographer to take you outside for few more romantic images of just the two of you right before sunset.

♥ Don’t be afraid to ask your photographer if you would like to bring your dog to an engagement session. If you do decide to include your pet please be sure to bring someone else to take care of your doggie for the rest of the engagement session so the pet is not a distraction.
